Los Angeles Galaxy vs. Colorado Rapids: Rating the Galaxy Players

Home cooking leads to roadkill for Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy, who dropped another game away from the StubHub Center. It wasn’t even close, as the Galaxy fell, 2-0, to Oscar Pareja’s Colorado Rapids at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. With the defeat, the Galaxy drop to 10-9-3 (33 points) and fourth place in the MLS Western Conference.

Here are the player ratings for the Los Angeles Galaxy against the Colorado Rapids on Saturday.

Carlo Cudicini 2

Two saves and a collection, but that was pretty much it from Cudicini, who regressed to his poor form today.

Sean Franklin 3

Five recoveries, two clearances, and a 75 percent pass success rate. Not impressive stats from this defender, who was worn down on the right side.

A.J. DeLaGarza 4

Seven recoveries, six clearances and a 78 percent pass success rate. Quiet, but decent effort from DeLaGarza.

Todd Dunivant 4.5

10 clearances, seven recoveries and three interceptions, but a 59 percent pass success rate. Distribution killed Dunivant on Saturday.

Tommy Meyer 1

Goat of the match. Gets burned on a header by Hendry Thomas and a run by Dillon Powers. I hear the NASL could use another center back. You can have him…Carolina.

Pablo Mastroeni 4

More in the next piece.

Hector Jimenez 2.5

Did win two tackles but was quiet defensively. Also had a 52 percent pass success rate on 19 touches.

Juninho 5

10 recoveries, a 75 percent pass success rate, three key passes and three interceptions. Still lacks the touch from long distance.

Marcelo Sarvas 5

Five recoveries and a 90 percent pass success rate. Good with the ball but was really locked down by Hendry Thomas and Nathan Sturgis.

Jose Villareal 3

Three recoveries, a 70 percent pass success rate on 20 touches and only one shot that was off target. Difficult night for Villareal.

Gyasi Zardes 6

Had a couple of shots that would have turned the match on its head late. If Zardes was just a little bit more accurate, the Galaxy would have salvaged a draw.

Jack McBean 4

A 90 percent pass success rate on just 10 touches and a recovery. Good play from McBean despite the reduced playing time.

Laurent Courtois 3

Delivered some energy and a spark late but needs to find his feet in the Reserve League game this weekend to make an impact this season for the Galaxy.

Michael Stephens NR

Came in the game late, no rating given.
