In an exclusive report from transfer market specialist journalist Ekrem Konur, it's revealed that both LA Galaxy and Inter Miami have their sights set on signing the 38-year-old Spanish football icon, Sergio Ramos.

Konur took to his X account to break the news, stating, "Los Angeles Galaxy and Inter Miami are interested in 38-year-old Spanish player Sergio Ramos."

After a heartfelt return to Sevilla following the conclusion of his contract with PSG, Sergio Ramos finds himself at a crossroads in his illustrious career.

With tempting offers pouring in from both the MLS and Saudi Arabia, as per reports from Spanish publication Super Deporte, Ramos is in pursuit of one final lucrative contract. However, his beloved Andalusian club is grappling with financial woes, adding complexity to the situation.

Ramos is on the lookout for an ambitious sporting project that can match his lofty aspirations, carefully weighing his options in the ever-evolving transfer market.

How this Real Madrid legend could thrive at LA Galaxy

This leads us to ask the following question: how could Sergio Ramos adapt to the current LA Galaxy squad?

At present, LA Galaxy boasts a roster featuring seasoned defenders like Maya Yoshida (35), Martín Cáceres (36), and Eriq Zavaleta (32), all of whom bring experience to the backline.

While I haven't closely followed Sergio Ramos in his most recent stint at Sevilla, I did watch him in the two previous years playing for PSG. Ramos is a player who, despite not being fast, remains very agile.

At PSG, he even played in a back three, acting as a sweeper, positioned centrally, dropping forward, and constantly pressuring opposing attacks. It’s a task he fulfills perfectly, despite his age. He’s a veteran player, yet agile and highly intelligent, understanding that role like few others.

For us, while it wouldn’t necessarily involve implementing a back three at Galaxy, he could play as a right-sided center-back, alongside Maya Yoshida, and be that center-back who ventures forward, constantly pressing the opposing attack to swiftly regain possession.

Undoubtedly, we could picture him at Galaxy for at least two years, but we’d need to see how this situation evolves. We still have to wait for more certainty on whether he can or cannot make it to the MLS.
