Even though his name was misspelled, he was able to overcome the mistake in the match against San Jose. He played almost the full 90 and was able to pick up an assist in the game. Gerrard played a perfect cross to Giovani dos Santos who found the back of the net with a header. It’s a good thing that his name change didn’t take away from his world-class talents.
The LA Galaxy immediately knew the mistake that they had made so they tried to laugh at themselves before anyone else could. The team’s official twitter account sent out a hilarious tweet to try to downplay their mistake.

The Los Angeles club has come under fire from football fans around the world but it was probably an honest mistake. This isn’t the first time a name has been misspelled on a jersey and it will not be the last. This is something to laugh at but it isn’t anything serious. I wonder what Gerrard thought about the mishap.
