The LA Galaxy II bounced back from recent draws as they were able to defeat Tulsa Roughnecks FC as the completed a 2-0 win a recorded their fifth shutout of the USL season.
The LA Galaxy II were impressive in their win over Tulsa Roughnecks FC in their USL match. This was the second game of a pair of back-to-backs between the two sides. The first game ended in a draw but Los Angeles was able to get the victory in this one.
Los Dos were able to break their recent form of three consecutive draws as they got a decisive win in this match. The Galaxy II were able to improve to 6-2-8 on the USL season and they are currently in second place in the Western Conference with 26 points. Tulsa dropped to 2-10-2 on the year with eight total points as they sit in last place in the West.

The Roughnecks had a golden scoring opportunity early as one of their player got free on a breakaway in the 4th minute. Galaxy goalkeeper, Bennett Sneddon, came up with a huge save to deny Tulsa. LA then came back a few minutes later to grab the lead in the sixth minute.
Adonis Amaya stole a back pass and turned his shot on goal past the keeper to grab his first goal of the season. Sneddon worked hard for his clean sheet in this one as he completed the first half shutout with two more great saves in the 16th and the 45th minute.
Los Angeles were able to grab another goal early in the second half to double their lead. Jose Villarreal was fouled inside the box and the Galaxy were awarded a penalty. Alejandro Covarrubias took the penalty kick and slotted the ball home to the keeper’s left. That was his first goal of the season.
The Galaxy’s shutout and Sneddon’s clean sheet was almost given up in the 77th minute when Tulsa hit the top the post off of a free kick. The free kick found a cutting Roughneck’s player but his shot bounced off of the post and back into play.
The Galaxy II looked to be in great form in this match and they will be looking to continue their great play in their next game against Orange County Blues FC. That match will take place at the StubHub Center on July 2nd. Orange County is currently eighth in the Western Conference.
