The LA Galaxy II were forced to settle for a 2-2 draw against bottom of the Western Conference table, Tulsa Roughnecks FC, on the road in a disappointing result for Los Dos.
The LA Galaxy II earned a somewhat disappointing result on the road against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on June 17th. The match ended in a 2-2 draw with a point being given to each side. It wouldn’t be a bad result but Tulsa is at the bottom of the Western Conference table and Los Dos should have defeated them.
The Galaxy are near the top of the Western Conference with 23 points compared to only eight points for the Roughnecks. Los Angeles is currently tied for second place in the West with the Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Tulsa is alone at the bottom of the table and are only ahead of Pittsburg and Montreal in the East.

Jefrey Payeras opened the scoring for LA as he banged home a diving header off of a corner kick. They doubled their lead in the first half as Jack McBean scored his 12th goal of the season. He is the USL’s leading scorer and his great form continues for the Galaxy.
Tulsa cut LA’s lead in half just before the end for he first half with a controversial penalty. One of the Roughnecks’ players was taken down and fouled just on the edge of the penalty box but the referee pointed to the spot and rewarded them a penalty shot. The striker netted the goal for the home team.
The Roughnecks evened things up just after halftime as they scored off of a corner kick that found one of their players heads and then the back of the net. That was the last goal of the match as neither team was able to find a winner in the second half.
The LA Galaxy II were forced to settle for just one point against a side that they should have defeated. It was a disappointing effort from the team as they were up 2-0 in the first half and ended up giving up their lead. They will need a better performance next time out as they will be looking to bounce back.
Their next match will be against the Tulsa Roughnecks once again but this time at the StubHub Center in LA. The Galaxy will be looking to get revenge and a full three points as they return home. They are still the best scoring team in the USL but they need to sure up their defense going forward.
