The United States Men’s National Team will still have one game left in the Copa America as they will take on the loser of Chile and Columbia in the Third Place Game. That match will take place on Saturday at 8 p.m. EST. It will be tough match-up between either of those teams for the U.S.
Chile is coming off of a 7-0 win over Mexico and they are the defending Copa America champions. The United States have already played Columbia in this tournament in the opening match. Columbia defeated the USMNT 2-0. It should be a great third place match and the final between Argentina and the winner of Chile vs Columbia should be a great game as well.
The United States have made great strides and were only one match away from reaching the final in this year’s Copa America. The LA Galaxy were represented well by Gyasi Zardes who had himself a great tournament. He was able to score an important goal and complete an assist during his five matches. He also played the full 90 in every game.
United States’ head coach, Jurgen Klinsmann, said that “Gyasi worked his [behind] off. There’s so much effort in that kid.” (Adam Serrano) Zardes should return to the LA Galaxy in the coming days but he will likely be given some rest before returning to game action. His club team have missed his pace and play as of late.
