LA Galaxy Players Competing in International Tournaments

The LA Galaxy will have a set of players participating in international tournaments over the next few weeks. Here is who they are and where you can watch them.

The LA Galaxy have always been rich in international talent and that has not changed this year. They will have two players competing in international tournaments over the next few weeks as the Copa America Centenario and Euro 2016 are set to kick off. These are two of the biggest international tournaments in the world.

The two players that will be competing in international matches are Gyasi Zardes (USA; Copa America Centenario) and Robbie Keane (Ireland; Euro 2016). Both of these players should have a huge impact on their respective sides. Their home nations will need strong performances from both of them.

The most notable name of the three, and the one that most Americans will watch, is Gyasi Zardes. He will be playing in a forward position for the United States Men’s National Team in the Copa America Centenario. Zardes will be looking to help the USA advance past a difficult group stage as they take on Columbia, Paraguay, and Costa Rica.

The United States will open up against the third ranked team in the world in Columbia. They have a tough task ahead of them but Gyasi Zardes’ impact going forward and as a potential goal scoring threat, should help the team. Zardes has made 22 appearances for the United States’ senior team and he has netted three goals.

LA Galaxy captain, Robbie Keane, is also the captain for Ireland’s nation team. He will be looking to lead his team against strong opponents in the group stage. Ireland will be facing off against Sweden, Belgium, and Italy.

Keane is the Republic of Ireland’s all-time leader in caps with 143 and goals scored with 67. He made his debut with the senior team in 1998 and Robbie has been the captain of the team since 2006.

It should be fun to watch these two LA Galaxy stars on an international level in the coming weeks. Los Angeles will have a break in their matches with their next game coming on June 14th in the U.S. Open Cup. Hopefully Zardes and Keane can have strong outings for their national teams.
