Last weekend was supposed to be evidence that Jesus Rico-Sanz’s Los Angeles Blues were a contender for any hardware in USL Pro. However, that never materialized to anything as they proceeded to drop a pair of league contests on the road in Florida. On Apr. 19, the Blues fell to Orlando City at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Fla., by the tune of 3-2. Goals from Connor Hearn (70′) and Rodrigo Lopez (89′) paced the Blues.

Despite a goal from George Davis IV in the 24th minute and an own goal at the hour mark, the poor defense that has hindered Los Angeles on the road last year reared its ugly head again in the form of another 3-2 defeat at Plant City Stadium in Plant City, Fla.
