LA Galaxy will face the Colorado Rapids this Wednesday without one of their superstars due to an injury issue.

The LA Galaxy are set to visit the Colorado Rapids this Wednesday for an MLS regular season match at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

As they gear up to continue the latter stages of the season, the Galaxy have already secured their playoff spot and are determined to solidify their position at the top of the Western Conference.

In their last outing, the Galaxy claimed a 2-0 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps, showcasing their desire to contend for the top seed in the West.

While catching Inter Miami in the race for the Supporters' Shield appears virtually impossible, head coach Greg Vanney’s side is focused on finishing strong and reclaiming their status as leaders of the conference. The last time the Galaxy earned the top seed was in 2011, a season that culminated in their third MLS title.

However, the team will face an injury setback ahead of the match against the Rapids, as German legend Marco Reus has been ruled out due to hamstring issues.

Reus exited the match against the Whitecaps with the injury, and the Galaxy are unlikely to take any risks with him, especially considering their playoff position is already secured.

Despite the absence of Reus, the Galaxy are aiming to capitalise on this opportunity to build momentum. With only one home game left at Dignity Health Sports Park, where they have yet to lose this season, a win against Colorado would inject much-needed adrenaline into the squad.

The Galaxy have not won consecutive matches since before Reus made his debut, with their recent record standing at 2-2 following the victory over Atlanta United.

A win against the Rapids would not only boost the Galaxy's morale but also keep them ahead of LAFC and Real Salt Lake in the playoff race. Additionally, a victory for the Galaxy would effectively extinguish the Rapids' slim hopes of clinching the number one seed in the Western Conference.
