We have transfer news for LA Galaxy fans, but it’s not one of those exciting signings from Europe or a well-known international footballer. This time, it’s a transfer from Ventura County FC to the LA Galaxy. We’re talking about our affiliate club participating in the MLS NEXT Pro. Let's dive in.

According to reports from Friday, July 12, the LA Galaxy has signed midfielder Isaiah Parente for the remainder of the 2024 season, with an option to extend through 2025-2026, as announced by the club itself.

Parente, 24, joins from the MLS NEXT Pro club Ventura County FC after scoring 3 goals and providing 1 assist in 16 appearances this season. The footballer played one MLS match for the LA Galaxy earlier this year.

Before officially joining the club, Parente was a homegrown player for Columbus Crew. He made 13 MLS appearances with Columbus, in addition to one appearance for Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro.

Despite coming from MLS NEXT Pro, Parente is a player with MLS experience, both with LA Galaxy and Columbus Crew. He knows what it’s like to play for a major league team, to play under pressure, and he could potentially be a very interesting addition.

LA Galaxy officially signs 24-year-old midfielder

Even though he comes from our affiliate club Ventura County, Parente is not an 18, 19, or 20-year-old youth player. He is 24 years old, so we should be keenly watching his progress.

This could be an intriguing signing. It’s always nice to see players coming from MLS NEXT Pro, as that’s the purpose of this project launched by MLS—to promote young players accumulating professional minutes and preparing for the demands of MLS.

In Parente’s case, we’re talking about a player who combines both MLS NEXT Pro and MLS experience, so we should be paying attention to him. He could indeed become a very interesting player for the Galaxy, despite not being a high-profile name from Europe or internationally renowned.

We wish Isaiah Parente all the best from The View from Avalon’s editorial team.
