According to reports from El Futbolero, the potential signing of Henry Martín by LA Galaxy seems to have fallen through, confirming previous discussions on The View from Avalon. However, another player from Club América is now linked to the Los Angeles outfit.

As the MLS 2024 season progresses, LA Galaxy finds themselves leading their conference after six rounds. Despite their strong start, transfer rumors, and even official signings, continue to circulate.

LA Galaxy recently finalized the loan signing of Carlos Emiro Garcés from Deportivo Pereira in the Liga BetPlay Dimayor I, with an option to buy for the remainder of the 2024 season. However, another rumor has emerged following this acquisition.

According to El Futbolero, Henry Martín, previously linked with LA Galaxy, is close to renewing his contract with Club América. Nevertheless, the Galaxy have reportedly turned their attention to another player from the Liga MX side: Alejandro Zendejas.

"With Henry Martín's refusal to reinforce the Los Angeles team, LA Galaxy decided to bet on Alejandro Zendejas, an American player who would not occupy a foreign player slot and could quickly adapt to the league's format, as he previously played in the North American league for Dallas FC. Alejandro Zendejas is seen as the replacement for Javier Hernández in the American squad," explains the aforementioned source.

Writer Javier Vaca elaborates that Alejandro Zendejas, who has started to become decisive for América and has earned the confidence of Brazilian coach André Jardine, has not had the opportunity to negotiate a contract renewal with the club's management.

This situation could be exploited by LA Galaxy, who are reportedly willing to meet América's asking price for his transfer.
