The impact Pec had for the LA Galaxy in the playoffs
Pec ended the 2024 regular season on a tear. Not only did he have seven goals in the Galaxy's last nine games, the 23-year-old sensation had scored in each of the final five games.
In fact, counting the 4th of July loss against LAFC, Pec had been the lone scorer in three of the LA Galaxy's 2-1 losses. The other two such defeats were against St. Louis City SC and the Houston Dynamo.
It comes with ease to say that the Brazalian forward made a splash during the postseason. In the Western Conference Semifinals against Minnesota United FC, Pec found the back of the net within the first 30 seconds of the contest.
While his 16 goals and 14 assists are certainly impressive, his trio of goals and assists definitely propelled the Los Angeles Galaxy back to the MLS Cup Finals. Despite having appeared in a record nine such games prior, the 2024 Finals were the team's first in a decade.
The impact of Paintsil was also phenomenal for the LA Galaxy
Paintsil found his foot (or cleat) in the league along with Pec. The pair of newcomers became a breath of fresh air for the Los Angeles Galaxy while taking the air out of the sails for just about everyone of their opponents.
During the 2024 MLS regular season, there were three times when Paintsil scored in back-to-back games. The LA Galaxy went 5-1 in those six particular games.
The Ghana native contributed 10 goals and 10 assists during the 2024 MLS season. Paintsil scored four times during the postseason including one of the two goals in the Finals against the New York Red Bulls.
