The LA Galaxy have not been on the right side of history much during the 2025 MLS regular season. They entered the record books by becoming the first team not to earn a win in their first 11 games. The futility did not end there; the Los Angeles Galaxy actually started the year on a 16-game winless streak

Furthermore, during that stretch, the LA Galaxy recorded a 1-0 loss in which the opposition never took a shot attempt. An own goal from the captain, Maya Yoshida, gave Sporting Kansas City the victory of the defending MLS Cup champions.

The very next match, the LA Galaxy have their largest blowout loss while being shutout in team history. A 7-0 defeat from the New York Red Bulls added another negative notch to their season. The Red Bulls were the team that they ousted in the 2024 MLS Cup Finals.

Luckily on Saturday, the Los Angeles Galaxy had a victory in which some positive history was made. A few worthy notes can be bragged about from the 3-0 victory on Saturday against the Colorado Rapids.

Harbor Miller channels Jack McBean on Saturday against Colorado.

LA Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney aimed to change up the Starting XI when they took the field against the Rapids on Saturday. With next week's Leagues Cup semifinals match against the Seattle Sounders, Miller was one of the new names tasked to begin the game.

"Harbor is kid with a ton of confidence and ability. He wasn't even really playing his position. He was going back to his days as an academy player out on the wing. We knew he could handle that no problem and attack up the left side. He was mature, good decision, showed a ton of confidence out there. He's ready for this level. "

It did not take long for the teenager to make the most of it. Miller scored the game's first goal in the 7th minute. Veteran defender Miki Yamane had the assist on the play.

According to MLS Communications, "Scoring his first-career goal on Saturday, defender Harbor Miller (18 years, 63 days old) became the second-youngest player to score a goal in Galaxy history, trailing only Jack McBean (16 years, 312 days old).

Miller had not been seen on the field for the Galaxy's main roster since April. He has spent the majority of the year with the second unit, Ventura County FC.

Miki Yamane had a big night, himself. He recorded a second assist in the match after halftime. Up 1-0 against the Colorado Rapids, the LA Galaxy added another goal.

"Elijah was awesome tonight. He was really, really good. I thought his field awareness, feel for time, his relationship with Edwin was really good. His power to carry beyond lines and to drive the game forward and obviously to get himself into goal scoring position is something we kind of talked about at halftime, is that our pivots, specifically Elijah, could roll off and join the attack based on how they were trying to press us. He took it and ran with it. Yeah, he was excellent."

This time, first-year midfielder Elijah Wynder found the back of the net. It was also his first-ever MLS goal. Just like Miller, the former Louisville City SC star has spent time with Ventura County FC.

Now, it's on to the 2025 Leagues Cup Semifinals!

Wynder and Miller enjoyed being a part of a rare LA Galaxy victory this season. The six-time MLS Cup champions will host the Seattle Sounders on Wednesday at Dignity Health Sports Park.

The winner of that match advances to Finals against the winner of Inter Miami vs. Orlando City SC. The losers of both games will play in the Third-Place Match a few days later.
