2. The Galaxy have been lethal so far in the MLS Cup Playoffs.

Minnesota advanced past the favorite, Real Salt Lake, after a pair of wins via penalties. Only goal was scored by the sixth seed in regulation. Just one goal was allowed, too.

However, the second seed Galaxy won Game 1 at home 5-0 against the Colorado Rapids. Then, they turned around and won Game 2 by a score of 4-1.

Nine goals in the opening round not only extended the Los Angeles Galaxy's season but it launched them as a potential favorite. Especially with the Eastern Conference's top three seeds (Miami, Columbus and Cincinnati all being eliminated).

In Game 1 against the Rapids, the defense played strong for the Head Coach Greg Vanney. As a team, they only allowed one shot attempt. The dominance on display showed and gave the Galaxy their largest win of the 2024 MLS season.

With the addition of Marco Reus back earlier this summer and players like Dejan Joveljic and Julian Aude back to full health since their injuries, the Los Angeles Galaxy looked primed and ready for a third win this postseason.
