If you placed any bets against the Los Angeles Galaxy to lose on Saturday in the MLS Cup Finals, shame on you! Homefield advantage helped the 2024 Western Conference finalists spoil their haters trying to make a dime off such wagers.

The LA Galaxy went 13-0-3 in the 16 games that they player at Dignity Health Sport Park. Though they were listed as the 'home team' against LAFC on July 4, that installment of the 'El Trafico' Classic was played in Pasadena, California at the Rose Bowl.

"Look at the fans. It's an amazing atmosphere, the stadium, the city. The fans were waiting for this moment. I'm happy because we are in a good moment, it was a good year."
Gaston Brugman, LA Galaxy midfielder

Even during the playoffs, the Galaxy remained undefeated in Carson, California. Their hospitality skills were outshined by their ability to win games or at least not lose them at this venue.

With wins over the Colorado Rapids, Minnesota United FC and the Seattle Sounders FC, that should have been enough research for sports fans to convince them against holding their breath for a first defeat at home for the Galaxy.

Why not call it 'Perfection Palace?'

Calling all fact checkers! The Los Angeles Galaxy have never lost an MLS Cup in their home stadium.

In 2011, the LA Galaxy were vying for their third MLS Cup. They previously captured the title in 2002 and 2005.

However, it was the 2011 MLS season that saw the Los Angeles Galaxy host the Houston Dynamo. The game ended, 1-0, as the Dynamo left California empty handed.

History repeated itself as the two faced off in the 2012 MLS Cup Finals. The LA Galaxy again won, this time 3-1. The site remained unchanged, Dignity Health Sports Park. Though, it was previously called the Home Depot Center.

On Saturday, the next challenger for the Galaxy fell short. This time, the New York Red Bulls were tasked with the objective of defeating the Western Conference juggernaut at Dignity Health Sports Park for the first time in 2024.

Now, the six-time MLS Cup Champions will take their unbeaten streak at home (in Carson, California) into the next season. Not only will the LA Galaxy be defending the streak in 2025, but they will be defending the league title.

Just to jog your memory, do you recall who the last team in MLS was to repeat as champions?

You guessed it! The Los Angeles Galaxy when they did so in 2011 and 2012. Perhaps this time next year, seven is the lucky number for Dejan Joveljic, Joseph Paintsil and company.

If the game is played in Carson, California again, let's not bet against homefield advantage. Afterall, it hasn't worked out so far!
