4. Alan Gordon
Our last featured player grew up in Long Beach, California before moving to Gilbert, Arizona as a teenager. Gordon made his MLS debut in 2004 with the Portland Timbers. Appearing in 27 games he scored 17 times.
He joined the Los Angeles Galaxy the next year and would be a part of the franchise's second ever MLS Cup Title. Four games shy of 100 for the Galaxy, Gordon found the back of the next another 16 times in the league.
Following a pair of brief stints with Chivas USA and Toronto FC, the gifted forward would play four seasons with the San Jose Earthquakes.
A return to his original club in 2014 saw him win a third MLS Cup with the LA Galaxy alongside Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane. Gordon recorded 13 more scores in an additional 65 games with the Galaxy. He would depart the team for a second time in 2016, as would Donovan.
It would be in his second to last year in MLS that Gordon ended up joining the Colorado Rapids in 2017. The next year, with the Chicago Fire, marked the final one as a player. He retired when he wrapped up the 2018 MLS season.
