The past twelve months, it has been the best of times and it has been the worst of times for the Los Angeles Galaxy. It's the tale of the two teams in one city.

LAFC, the other team that the Galaxy share LA with, is having another strong season. The LA Galaxy have not.

Who's ahead in El Trafico Clasico?

Since 2018, the LA Galaxy and LAFC have played in 25 regular season games against each other. The Galaxy hold the slimmest of leads in this series with 10 wins, while LAFC has nine. There have been six draws between the two clubs including the last match during Rivalry Week.

The LA Galaxy managed to scrap for a 2-2 draw against their cross-town rival. Last year, LAFC won twice by the score of 2-1. The Galaxy managed to extract a measure of revenge during their third encounter of the 2024 MLS season.

The home team won 4-2 after being down 0-2 to LAFC after the first half. This win also allowed the Los Angeles Galaxy to clinch a berth in the MLS Western Conference standings.

LAFC enters Saturday's game as the fourth best team in the MLS Western Conference standings. San Diego FC, the Vancouver Whitecaps and Minnesota FC United are ahead of them by a few points. The LA Galaxy sit at the bottom of the conference with just three wins this season.

The six-time MLS Cup winners lost just eight games last year. In 2025, the Los Angeles Galaxy don't even look like they will win eight games. This is such a huge drop off stemming from the worst start historically to a season not only by a defending champion but by any team in MLS.

Marco Reus and Diego Fagundez have been the primary source of scoring for an otherwise poor offense. Former LA Galaxy midfielder Marky Delgado was one of the key departures that hurt the team's chemistry and productivity on the field. Delgado is back with LAFC along with their high-scoring forward Denis Bouanga.

How to watch Saturday's El Trafico Clasico game?

The match between the LA Galaxy and LAFC is available on MLS Season Pass. It can also be streamed on both, Apple TV & Apple TV+.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. (PT and 9:30 p.m. (PT). It is both teams last game ahead of next Wednesday's All-Star Game in Austin, Texas.

The LA Galaxy do not have a representative attending, whereas LAFC has one. Bouanga was voted in by fans this year.

After the All-Star break, the Los Angeles Galaxy returns to action on Friday, July 25 when the defending MLS Cup champs play the Houston Dynamo.
