In his playoff debut as a member of the LA Galaxy, the starting goalkeeper showed why he was brought in this winter. The Galaxy moved on from Jonathan Bond.

McCarthy may not be expected to post a second consecutive shutout this weekend. However, he is capable of it.

In the month of June, the Los Angeles Galaxy had three straight shutouts. McCarthy was the goalie in all of those. He also had two more shutouts in the two games this season against the Seattle Sounders.

During the two games against the Rapids in the regular season, he allowed three goals. Both games resulted in wins for the Galaxy as they managed to outscore their opponent.
