The nephew of Head Coach Greg Vanney could be playing for another team. Especially if Vanney does not remain with the Los Angeles Galaxy, himself.

The duo won a title with Toronto FC back in 2017. Zavaleta signed a two-year deal back in February 2023. He makes just under $90,000 this season.

He is 32 years old and has not logged a season with more than 1,000 minutes in a season since his time playing in Canada. With only five game (and one start) under his belt in 2024, he serves the team best as a sub. Zavaleta is more likely to return next year than not, especially if Vanney is not relieved of duties or does not resign.

With Yoshida and Martin Carceres both in their thirties, Zavaleta may be the more affordable option to bring back. Caraces scored two goals last season for the LA Galaxy.

He is now 37 and if resigned would turn 38 in April next year. Retirement is more likely than a long-term tender.

Carlos Garces is also a free agent with youth on his side. He makes $200,000 this season from his one-year deal signed back on the first day of April this year. Garces has seen the field in only twice for the LA Galaxy in 2024. If brought back, his playing time should increase alongside Neal.

Likelihood of Zavaleta re-signing with Los Angeles Galaxy: 75% chance of returning, Likelihood of Carceres re-signing with Los Angeles Galaxy: 20% chance of returning, Likelihood of Garces re-signing with Los Angeles Galaxy: 60% chance of returning.
