3. Jalen Neal

First signing with the Los Angeles Galaxy on January 20, 2021, Neal is also on the last year of his contract. He did not suit up for the team in 2022 but did last season.

On March 11, 2023, Neal made his MLS debut against Sporting Kansas City that resulted in a 0-0 draw. All but two of his 60 passes were made with perfection as he also made five recoveries and five blocks in addition to three clearances. He was able to work well with fellow center-back Martin Caceres, who is also a free agent after this year.

Neal played in 16 games and started in 14 of those. So far this year, the 21-year-old has played in 15 games and started all but three of those.

Making $165,000 this year, Neal is a product of the Los Angeles Galaxy Academy program. He has been coached and embraced in the culture of the five-time MLS Champions for many years already.

While a number of the players on defense are over 30, Neal is not. His athleticism, competitive-nature and passion to play the game shows.

He scored one goal during his time playing on the United States U20 National Team. General Manager Will Kuntz would be wise to snag Neal up for many years to come and with an increase in salary.

Likelihood of re-signing with Los Angeles Galaxy: 90% chance of returning
