3. Steven Gerrard

This fellow-Brit also came the States after playing in overseas. From 1998 to 2015, Gerrard played for Liverpool. He appeared in 504 games and scored 120 times.

Internationally, he also played for England in 114 games and scored 21 times. In 2015, Gerrard took his talents across the Atlantic Ocean and across the States to California.

The first week of January in 2015, the Los Angeles Galaxy announced that they had signed Gerrard for $9 million on an 18-month Designated Player contract. His first game dawning the colors of the LA Galaxy came on July 11th when he was subbed into the contest against Real Salt Lake during that year's quarterfinals of the US Open Cup.

His first official game in MLS came six days later. During the contest, Gerrard chalked up an assist one of the three goals from teammate Robbie Keane's hat-trick. The Los Angeles Galaxy rocked the San Jose Earthquakes 5-3 at the StubHub Center.

Gerrard would be invited with the honor of being an MLS All-Star that same season, too. The LA Galaxy were eliminated by the Seattle Sounders during the 2005 MLS Playoffs.

The native of Whiston, England would come back for his final season as a member of the Galaxy. He also would go on to announce that this would be his last year playing professional soccer following the 2016
