1. David Beckham
America's favorite Brit, this soccer sensation made his debut in MLS for the LA Galaxy in 2007. He broke into the ranks back in 1992 with Manchester United. In 265 appearances, Beckham connected on 62 goals for his original squad.
In 2003, he was sent to Real Madrid. Beckham scored 13 more goals during 116 games. Then, the near impossible happened.
That first month of 2007, Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy made the signing public, a five-year deal worth approximately $250 million. His fanbase grew immediately as his jersey sales reached nearly a quarter of million before he even played his first game.
Beckham started for the LA Galaxy on July 27, 2007 in the SuperLiga semifinal against D.C. United. Much like Reus, he scored a goal, his first-ever for the club, and added an assist as the LA Galaxy went on to win 2-0.
On August 9th, 2007, Beckham made his long-awaited entrance on the Major League Soccer stage coming into the game at the 72nd minute against DC United. Despite not scoring or recording an assist, his debut sent shockwaves through the MLS fan base.
The Los Angeles had already won two MLS titles prior to Beckham's arrival (2002 & 2005). The international sensation helped lead the Galaxy to three more (in a span of four years). His first with the team came in 2011.
The team's championship win in 2011 was followed up with Beckham's extension. The Los Angeles Galaxy would go on to win again in 2012 (and 2014). They are the first and only team (currently) that have won five MLS titles.
Beckham would leave the Los Angeles Galaxy and played for his last ever club, Paris Saint-Germain in 2013. He now is a part of the ownership group of Inter Miami and was responsible in bringing Lionel Messi state-side to play in MLS.
