While the Los Angeles Galaxy are off for a few days (until September 14), let's reminisce in the glory of witnessing some of the world's best break into Major League Soccer dawning an LA Galaxy uniform.
Marco Reus is not the first and surely won't be the last to head to the United States. His first game for the LA Galaxy was truly remarkable. Though he did not start the game, his entrance in the 62nd minute for Marky Delgado.
The game had been tited at 0-0 until the 76th minute when Ricard Puig connected on a score off of the assist by Reus. Less than ten minutes later, Reus added a goal of his own from the center of the box.
"First of all, I want to prove myself, still. I'm 35 years old, but I think I have a lot of energy in my tank."
- Marco Reus, LA Galaxy midfielder
From 2012 through earlier this year, Reus appeared in 294 matches for Borussia Dortmund. There were 120 times that Reus's shot found the back of the net.
He also found success on the national level playing for his country of Germany. In his 48 games, Reus scored 15 goals on the international stage representing Germany. His experience, leadership and execution on offense have made him a viable weapon for Head Coach Greg Vanney.
LA Galaxy fans have seen this type of promising play before. Here are four other international stars to make a splash in the States as a member of the Los Angeles Galaxy.
