Saturday was a great game for the Los Angeles Galaxy for many reasons. They avenged their 2-0 loss earlier in the season against Austin FC. They also now are 17-0 at home, capping off a perfect record when playing at Dignity Health Sports Park.

One of those 17 home games was played at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California. They went unbeaten at home all year winning their last 11 consecutive contests as the host.

Gabriel Pec found the back of the net for the 15th time this year at the 31st minute of play. As of late, the LA Galaxy have not been used to taking a lead into halftime.

Their one goal advantage was short lived entering the second half of play as Sebastián Driussi of Austin FC tied it up at the 55th minute.

Pec was not the only member of the LA Galaxy on Saturday who added their 15th goal on the season. Dejan Joveljic accomplished the same feat at the 76th minute.

His goal not only gave the LA Galaxy three more points in the Western Conference Standings, but it eliminated Austin FC from qualifying for the postseason.

What was unique about this game?

Marco Reus did not play as he is still nursing a leg injury. Gaston Brugman was listed as one of the Starting XI as he has been coming off the bench more as of late.

Galaxy goalkeeper John McCarthy had four saves and only allowed one goal this time out. Since allowing a season high of four goals in the road loss to the Portland Timbers, McCarthy has only allowed four goals in the last three games combined (3-0-0).

The game was not typical of the Galaxy's other wins. Their opponent had the upper hand in terms of possession and shot attempts.

Despite Austin FC committing four more fouls than the LA Galaxy, it was the host team that was handed six yellow cards. Deep into stoppage time, Guilherme Biro was issued a red card during the second half.

The Los Angeles Galaxy have a nice rest scheduled ahead of them before their regular season finale. They will travel to Houston when they face off against another Texas team in the Houston Dynamo FC. Game #34 will be played on Saturday, October 19th.
