LA Galaxy's four biggest goals before playoffs

3. Stronger play from the defense and keeper(s).
After failing to make the playoffs and an early exit in the postseason a season before that, the LA Galaxy brought in goalie John McCarthy. He would replaced Jonathan Bond.
Backing up McCarthy is Novak Micovic. The younger keeper had two impressive showings during Group Play of the Leagues Cup.
Only Columbus Crew has a better passing percentage than the LA Galaxy as both teams are the only ones with over 89% this year.
The Galaxy's save percentage when defending the goal is at 74.3% which places them at fourth best in MLS. In 2023, the team had a save percentage of 62.5% and ranked third worst in MLS.
Furthermore, the LA Galaxy have allowed 36 goals on the year which ranks sixth in the Western Conference. The team's goal differential is +14 which is fourth best in the entire league.
Last season, the LA Galaxy finished with a goal differential of -16, ranking second worst in the Western Conference. What a difference one year can make.
