In a move to strengthen their goalkeeping department, the LA Galaxy has officially secured goalkeeper Brady Scott on a one-year deal, extending through the culmination of the 2024 MLS season. The agreement also includes two club option years, extending the partnership potentially until 2026.

Scott, aged 24, brings a wealth of experience to the LA Galaxy squad, having plied his trade in various leagues both domestically and internationally. His journey includes stints with notable clubs such as 1. FC Köln II in Germany (2017-20), Columbus Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro (2022-23), as well as Memphis 901 FC (2021) and Sacramento Republic FC (2020) in the USL Championship.

During the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season, Scott showcased his talent by delivering six shutouts in 15 appearances, highlighting his prowess between the posts. LA Galaxy's General Manager, Will Kuntz, expressed satisfaction with the acquisition, emphasizing Scott's impressive track record at the youth national team level with the United States. Kuntz believes Scott will provide crucial competition and depth in the goalkeeping position while continuing to develop his skills.

Hailing from Petaluma, California, Scott embarked on his professional journey in 2017 with Bundesliga outfit 1. FC Köln, where he accumulated five shutouts in 29 appearances for 1. FC Köln II in Regionalliga West competitions. Following his tenure with FC Köln, Scott joined Nashville SC in August 2020 before being loaned to Sacramento Republic FC in the USL Championship.

Scott's versatility and talent attracted attention in the MLS Expansion Draft of 2020, leading to his selection by Nashville SC. Subsequently, he was loaned to USL Championship side Memphis 901 FC, where he recorded one shutout in seven appearances during the 2021 USL Championship Regular Season.

In 2021, Scott's career trajectory saw him joining the Columbus Crew through the MLS Re-Entry Draft, where he continued to impress with five shutouts in nine regular-season appearances for Columbus Crew 2 during the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season. His contributions proved pivotal in guiding Crew 2 to victory in the 2022 MLS NEXT Pro Cup Final.

Scott's impact extends beyond club football, as he has represented the United States in various youth international tournaments. Notably, his standout performance in the 2018 Concacaf U-20 Championship earned him the Golden Glove award and a place in the tournament's Best XI, solidifying his reputation as a promising talent on the global stage.

The transaction, finalized on March 8, 2024, underscores LA Galaxy's commitment to fortifying their squad with top-tier talent. With Scott's addition, the team aims to bolster their defensive unit and pursue success in the upcoming MLS campaigns.
