3. Hercules Gomez
Originally from Los Angeles, California, the forward shared the field for a pair of seasons with the Galaxy with Gardner. Despite missing the 2004 MLS season, Gomez played three seasons with his first team (2003, 2005 & 2006).
He played sparingly his first year in 2003 by appearing for only five minutes. In 2005, Gomez started in 16 of the 22 games he played in.
The 5'10'' scoring threat had arguably his best season in the league by scoring 11 goals and adding a pair of assists. This was the first year Gomez experienced postseason play in MLS as the Galaxy won all four of their playoff games including the MLS Championship against the New England Revolution (1-0 in OT).
Although Gomez played and started in more games in 2006 (as well as seeing an increase in his total minutes), he only scored five times with three assists. This would be his last season with the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Gomez played for the Colorado Rapids for more than a season and a half. During his stay in the Rocky Mountains area, he scored six times and had three assists during the 37 games he appeared in. The versatile forward started in 21 of those 37 games, as well.
In 2008 and 2009, Gomez played for Sporting Kansas City. With 25 more games and over 1,000 additional minutes in MLS, he netted just as many goals as he did assists with three.
Gomez played for Toronto FC in 2015. Only starting in two of the seven games he took the field. He recorded one goal in his 227 minutes played.
During the final season of Gomez's MLS career, he joined the Seattle Sounders. It would be the second time he won a championship in the league. This time it was against his team from the year before, Toronto.
