What to expect this time

For the Los Angeles Galaxy, it is important to note that since the four straight draws they had to begin the month of May, they have gone an impressive 13-5 in their latest 18 games.

They have been a little shaky entering Saturday's game against the Whitecaps as they have split their last four contests, winning two and losing two.

The last time these two teams played, the win gave the LA Galaxy the lead in the Western Conference. Since beating the Colorado Rapids in the middle of July, the Galaxy haven't really looked back since claiming control of first place again.

Marco Reus, who was acquired that same month, did not play in the last contest against Vancouver. Since joining the Los Angeles Galaxy, he has one goal and two assists in just four games. The German superstar has only started in two of games as well.

Head Coach Greg Vanney and the Galaxy aim to add another win and three more points in the Western Conference Standings. Since being hired as the head coach in 2011, the Los Angeles Galaxy are 3-2-3 vs. Vancouver.

Still unbeaten in their last five home games against the Whitecaps, the Galaxy look to continue that streak. Thought it will be tough when they face a strong defensive unit from Vancouver.

The Whitecaps averages just 1.64 goals a game while the LA Galaxy average 1.83 per game.
Yohei Takaoka has allowed just 36 goals in 28 games for Vancouver. He has saved nearly twice as many shots as he has let go in.

"We haven't lost a home game. It's going to be a **** of a different kind of game, football against Vancouver on Saturday. I think we going to win and just go up again with another three points."

Joseph Paintsil - LA Galaxy Forward

That's the level of strong play the LA Galaxy hope to get from their own goalkeeper, John McCarthy. Unfortunately, he let in a season high four goals on Wednesday at Portland.

Vanney should have his stars regrouped and ready to win their 17th game of the 2024 season and in the all-time series against the visitor, Vancouver. The Galaxy look to continue their winning ways at home as multiple goals in either half isn't hard to imagine.

Afterall, the roster boats multiple players who have logged at least ten goals this season already. Joveljic leads the team with 14 goals. Gabriel Pec has 12 and Riqui Puig has 10 scores. Both of those players also have at least ten assists, as well.

Look for the Los Angeles Galaxy to avoid losing two games in a row. They have yet to do so all season. McCarthy may not get the shutout. The Galaxy may not need one if they can put at least two in the net as they have 19 times already.
