Greg Vanney and Maya Yoshida address LA Galaxy's winless streak
LA Galaxy's struggles continued as they played out a goalless draw against Charlotte FC at the Bank of America Stadium on Saturday. The result marked the fifth consecutive match without a win for the Galaxy, as they failed to capitalize on several scoring opportunities.
Despite creating numerous chances, LA Galaxy could not find the back of the net. Gabriel Pec had a golden opportunity to break the deadlock late in the game but missed a clear chance that could have secured all three points for his team.
“We had the opportunity to win the game. Gabriel Pec had a chance at the end, but he has to convert those, and I’m sure he would say the same. He had the opportunities to score and make the difference,” said head coach Greg Vanney. “I thought he had a pretty solid performance, but we both know he could have made the difference in the match and taken us home with three points.”
Despite the disappointing result, there were some positives for the Galaxy. They managed to keep a clean sheet for only the third time this season, an encouraging sign for a team that has struggled defensively, conceding 21 goals in 14 games. This makes them the team with the tenth-most goals allowed in the Western Conference.

Greg Vanney and Maya Yoshida address LA Galaxy's winless streak
“I think we still have to improve. Keeping a clean sheet gives us confidence,” said captain Maya Yoshida. “In our last game, we conceded a goal from a set-piece that cost us three points, so we have a lot to improve on defensively. There is still a long way to go.”
LA Galaxy’s last victory came in the Cali Clásico against San Jose Earthquakes, where they secured a thrilling 4-3 win at Dignity Health Sports Park on April 21. Since then, they have lost to Austin (2-0) and drawn with Seattle Sounders (0-0), Real Salt Lake (2-2), Minnesota United (2-2), and now Charlotte FC (0-0). The team currently sits in fourth place in the Western Conference with 22 points.
The Galaxy will look to turn their fortunes around in their next two home games against Houston and Dallas. With a winless streak hanging over their heads, they need to rediscover their scoring touch and defensive solidity to climb the standings and build momentum as the season progresses.
