4. Robbie Rogers

While we have highlighted a few players on the offensive side of the ball, this defensive man had a prolific career in MLS in addition to the USMNT.

Rogers entered the league in 2007 with the Columbus Crew. He appeared in just ten games, scoring three times and tallying one assist.

It was in 2008 when his career really took off in MLS. Not only did he win his first of two MLS Championships, Rogers also was named to the MLS Best XI Team that year. In 33 games that season, he scored seven times and had three assists.

In February 2013, Rogers announced his retirement and came out to the world. His break from professional soccer would be temporary as he would later join the Los Angeles Galaxy months later.

The next season, Los Angeles would win their fifth MLS Championship and it would be Rogers's second. His first goal as a member of the LA Galaxy would come in 2015 against the Portland Timbers. The Los Angeles Galaxy would win that game 5-0.

Rogers would make 18 appearances on the main roster for the USMNT. He scored twice in the three years he was on the squad.
