1. David Beckham

In 2007, David Beckham surprised the world by leaving Real Madrid to sign with the LA Galaxy, marking a historic event for the MLS that would ultimately bring about the invention of the franchise player rule.

For the second half of the 2008-2009 season, David returned to Europe with AC Milan, and thanks to the good feelings he left in Italy, he made a second return with the Rossoneri for 2009-2010, with his sights set on the World Cup of South Africa 2010.

Unfortunately, in March of that year, a few months before the World Cup, the Englishman suffered an Achilles tendon injury and was unable to accompany his national team to the tournament.
