How the Western Conference leaders can secure a win over Earthquakes

3. Galaxy should be able to outscore the Earthquakes.

LA boasts a goal differential of +5 while their opponent has one of -10. This stat could very well be the major factor leading to victory.

The team's leading scorer, forward Dejan Joveljic, has half a dozen goals on the year. Adding another one (or two) is quite possible as he already has taken 21 shots this season.

Paintsil has three goals himself on 21 shots and Puig has two goals on 23 shots, as well. A 3-1 victory of San Jose is highly plausible given the matchups in the upcoming game.

LA should benefit from playing a Western Conference opponent that is dead last in the standings. Playing to their strengths should seal the win for the Galaxy.
