The Missouri native was only with the LA Galaxy in 2012. This was season that the franchise won their fourth championship. Noonan suited up for the Galaxy in ten games and scored once.

Noonan broke into MLS with the Columbus Crew in 2018. He then joined the Colorado Rapids early in the 2019 season.

He played 16 games in total for the Crew, scoring just once. Then, with the Rapids he scored twice during his 17 games.

Following two years with the Seattle Sounders FC, Noonan made his way to Southern California to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy. In his final season as a player, he hoisted championship gold with the team.

After his retirement, Noonan took up a career on the sidelines coaching. He joined the Galaxy as an assistant immediately in 2013. He was on staff the next year in 2014 for the team's fifth MLS Cup.

It was in 2022 that Noonan became the head coach of the FC Cincinatti soccer club. This season, they are one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference and also playing in postseason.
