4. Seattle Sounders

Just like with LAFC, the Seattle Sounders has also taken turns knocking the Los Angeles Galaxy out of the playoffs. Fate and luck fell in favor of the Galaxy as they won 1-0 on November 30th in the MLS Western Conference Finals.

The Sounders made a pair of moves that might hurt their chances to return to the same stage. This month, Seattle waived midfielder Braudillio Rodrigues and also traded Josh Atencio to the Colorado Rapids.

In 38 appearances at the MLS Next Pro level, Rodrigues scored 19 times including twice during the playoffs last year. He also recorded six assists, too.

The Sounders gained $1.6 million in General Allocation Money for Atencio when they shipped him to the Rapids.

A native of Washington state, the 23-year-old midfielder had been a member of the Sounders since 2019. That was the last season that Seattle won the MLS Cup, as well.

In 55 matches between the LA Galaxy and the Sounders, the six-time champions have lost more than they have won. With just 19 wins to Seattle's 21 victories, the Los Angeles Galaxy struggle against their rival from the Northwestern territory.

In 2024, the Los Angeles Galaxy won 1-0 in early March against the Sounders. The two teams tied in the second regular season match on May 5th.

The Sounders got their revenge during the League's Cup game when they blew out the Galaxy, 3-1. However, the LA Galaxy ended Seattle's season just before the MLS Cup Finals.

With the pair of losses to the Sounders' roster, the Los Angeles Galaxy may not go 'Sleepless in Seattle.'
