3. Real Salt Lake

This team has definitely been a thorn in the LA Galaxy's side. Real Salt Lake was the better of the two teams during the 2009 MLS Cup Finals. After a 1-1 ties, the Galaxy fell 5-4 in via penalty kicks.

RSL looked strong for almost all of the 2024 season. Sadly, they traded their leading scorer to another California team, the San Jose Earthquakes.

Cristian 'Chicho' Arango is no longer with the third seed from last year's Western Conference playoffs. Having been a part of the team the past two seasons, Arango helped RSL qualify for the postseason both years.

He finished wth 23 goals and 15 assists for RSL during MLS play. Arango's most notable game in 2024 was on June 1st against Austin FC. His three-goal performance gave RSL the 5-1 win with ease.

Arango had another hat-trick earlier in the season back in late March. He scored all three goals in the 3-1 win against a lowly St. Louis City team.

Now that 'Chicho' plays in the East, the LA Galaxy don't have to worry when they play Real Salt Lake on Saturday, April 5th and Saturday, May 31st. However, the Galaxy will see Evander when they host FC Cincinnati on Saturday, September 20th.
