2. Portland Timbers

The professional soccer player who helped this Oregon-based franchise make the playoffs a season ago has been traded to FC Cincinnati earlier this month. He was essentially purchased for $12 million by his new team.

Evander especially showed his worth against the LA Galaxy in mid-September. When the Timbers hosted Joseph Paintsil, Gabriel Pec and company, they won 4-2.

The Brazlian midfielder's offense was too much for LA Galaxy keeper John McCarthy. Evander scored twice and recorded an assist, as he was responsible for three of the Timber's four goals in the victory.

Last season, the 26-year-old sensation was noticed by the entire league. Evander finished third in MVP voting in 2024.

His 15 goals and 19 assists helped the Timbers finish with the eighth best record in the Western Conference last year. Unfortunately, they were blanked 5-0 when they hosted the Whitecaps in the single-game Wild Card round.

With Evander gone, the Los Angeles Galaxy can breathe easier and relax when they play the Timbers on Sunday, March 16th and host them on Sunday, April 27th.
