2. September 6, 2020: LA Galaxy 3, LAFC 0.

This match is the biggest shutout win by the LA Galaxy over LAFC to date. A few weeks prior, on August 6, the Galaxy won 2-0.

Looking for revenge after being eliminated from the 2019 MLS Playoffs by LAFC, the LA Galaxy made another statement on this date. Before the 2020 season, LAFC had won twice against the Galaxy by a combined score of 11-5.

After a scoreless first half, the Los Angeles Galaxy struck first. Cristian Pavon scored in the 52nd minute. That didn't sit well with LAFC as tempers flared. Mark-Anthony Kaye was issued a red card.

His removal from the game forced LAFC to have to finish the game with just ten men on the field, giving the LA Galaxy an extra advantage.

Sebastian Lletget added two more goals to the scoreboard for the Galaxy. The 3-0 win gave the LA Galaxy a 4-3-2 series lead in all-time matches between the two teams.

It also extended the six-time MLS Cup champion's unbeaten streak at home against LAFC. They did not lose to their cross-town rival until April 2023.
