Los Angeles Galaxy Ins and Outs: November 26, 2013

Bruce Arena’s Los Angeles Galaxy released their 2014 MLS schedule, which kicks off on Mar. 8 at home against Real Salt Lake at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif. All home games with the exception of the Jul. 4 home contest with the Portland Timbers will be live blogged here on the View from Avalon. In place of that match, the Jun. 28 contest with the San Jose Earthquakes on the road will be live blogged, as with this past season.

Longest Homestand: Three Games (twice) – The Galaxy will have a pair of three game homestands in 2014 with the first spanning July 4 – July 16, when they host the Portland Timbers, Real Salt Lake and New England Revolution. The second will run from September 20 – October 4 and will see them face FC Dallas, the New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC.

Longest Road Trip: Four Games – From April 19 – May 17, the Galaxy will play away against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, the Colorado Rapids, Portland Timbers and Houston Dynamo for their longest road trip of the season.

Some other important pointers:

  • 18 of the Galaxy’s 34 regular season games will be available on national TV.
  • 7 games will air on NBC or the NBC Sports Network.
  • 6 games will air on ESPN or ESPN2 as well as on ESPN Deportes.
  • 5 games will air on UniMás or Univision Deportes.
  • Of the 18 nationally televised games, seven will see the Galaxy as the home side and 11 will feature the Galaxy as the visitors.

In Galaxy Academy News, Under-16 forward Jesus Nunez was named to the U.S. Under-15 National Team for the Winter Showcase at the Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. from Dec. 11 through Dec. 15. Here is the roster for the Under-15s.
