Houston Dynamo vs. Sporting Kansas City: Player Ratings

Dominic Kinnear’s Houston Dynamo and Peter Vermes’s Sporting Kansas City battled to a scoreless draw on Saturday afternoon at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Tex. With the first leg of the 2013 MLS Eastern Conference Final in the books, the scene shifts northward to Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City, Kan. for the second leg.

With both teams battling hard and fighting well, the View from Avalon has good to average grades all around. Here are the player ratings for game betweeen the Houston Dynamo and Sporting Kansas City on Saturday.

Brad Davis 6.5

Seven recoveries, four tackles won, a 33 percent cross success rate and a 71 percent pass success rate.

Andrew Driver 4

Underperformed for the time he was in the midfield. Two unsuccessful crosses, only one recovery and one tackle won.

Oscar Boniek Garcia 7

12 recoveries, five tackles won and a 75 percent pass success rate. Does get penalized for his three unsuccessful crosses.

Will Bruin 5

Neutralized by Matt Besler and his ilk, with a 50 percent pass success rate, and one shot off target.

Omar Cummings 4.5

Well, this Jamaican was nonexistent in the first leg. Can he turn it around in the second, like last time?

Cam Weaver 5

One clearance, one recovery, a 70 percent pass success rate on 17 touches and a 50 percent shot accuracy.

Narrowly loses to Collin on inferior pass success rate (56 percent), but he was a clearance machine with 20 clearances, five tackles won and 11 headers. Machine-like display from Collin.

Chance Myers 6

Paolo Nagamura 5.5

Seven recoveires, three interceptions and a 66 percent pass success rate. This has been a trend for a lot of Sporting’s players on Saturday.

Teal Bunbury 3

Simply awful passing from Teal Bunbury on Saturday. Worst player on the pitch for either team.

Jacob Peterson 5

Ineffective against Tally Hall, with just two clearances, three recoveries, one shot off target and a 58 percent pass success rate.

Graham Zusi 5.5
