A good victory means good grades, and the Galaxy delivered. The kids are all right as we look at the player ratings for the Los Angeles Galaxy against the Montreal Impact.
Brian Rowe 8
Two saves, and a punch, according to the Opta Chalkboard, to go with numerous collections. A very disciplined game from Rowe and a professional performance.
Todd Dunivant 7
Two interceptions, two clearances, five recoveries and an 82 percent pass success rate. Not too shabby from Duni on the night.
Another consistent performance from Leonardo. Seven recoveries, two clearances and a 92 percent pass success rate.
Kofi Opare 10
Four clearances, five recoveries, a 93 percent pass success rate…and the game-winner. The View from Avalon’s Man of the Match. Well done, Opare.
Sean Franklin 8
Five recoveries, four interceptions, a 50 percent cross success rate and an 81 percent pass success rate. That equals…good shift.
Four recoveries, five key passes and an 86 percent pass success rate. And no yellow card, which means he’s available for San Jose.
Michael Stephens 6.5
Two recoveries, a 50 percent cross success rate and a 74 percent pass success rate on 31 touches. Decent shift, but subbed out for Courtois to provide a spark.
Gyasi Zardes 7
Seven recoveries and an assist, but also had seven unsuccessful crosses and a 54 percent cross success rate on 48 touches. He’ll need to be more consistent on Sunday against the Quakes.
Marcelo Sarvas 8.5
A 95 percent pass success rate on 85 touches? Who is Marcelo Sarvas trying to be, Michael Bradley!? If so, gee whiz, we’ll take it! Sarvas also had 10 recoveries and two tackles won. He was a recovery machine on Wednesday. Also, no yellow, which means he’s a go against the Quakes.
Jose Villareal 5.5
Two shots off target, a blocked shot, a headed shot off target and a 71 percent pass success rate on 31 touches.
Jack McBean 5
McBean didn’t have a good game, with one shot on target, one shot off target, a headed shot on and off target each and a 62 percent pass success rate on 13 touches.
Robbie Keane 7
More in the next piece.
Laurent Courtois 5
Two recoveries and an 85 percent pass success rate on 13 touches. Had some good ideas in the attacking third but he was found out by the Impact backline.
Hector Jimenez 4
Brought in for fresh legs but only managed a couple of recoveries in mop-up duty.
