Los Angeles Galaxy Ins and Outs: January 31, 2013

In the final Los Angeles Galaxy Ins and Outs for the month of January here on the View from Avalon, the club announced its promotional schedule. Fans will get bobbleheads of Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane and Omar Gonzalez. There will be a fireworks show on the Fourth of July. And the new third kit will be unveiled in the summer.

A lot of news is buzzing regarding the Galaxy Academy. Former MLS vet Alex Yi was named the Academy Under-18s coach, succeeding Eddie Soto, who is now in charge of the Under-15s. The Under-18s and Under-16s took on Pateadores in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play this past weekend. The Under-18s were held to a 1-1 draw, while a goal festival saw the Under-16s play to a 3-3 draw. The Under-13s and Under-14s won the Legends Cup, while the Under-12s were eliminated in the semifinals of the tournament. Finally, former Academy defender/Cerritos College Falcon defender Jeffery Payeras is taking a chance on forgoing college and is now playing for Guatemala power CSD Municipal.
