In the final Los Angeles Galaxy Ins and Outs for the month of January here on the View from Avalon, the club announced its promotional schedule. A lot of news is buzzing regarding the Galaxy Academy. Former MLS vet Alex Yi was named the Academy Under-18s coach, succeeding Eddie Soto, who is now in charge of the Under-15s. The Under-18s and Under-16s took on Pateadores in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play this past weekend. The Under-18s were held to a 1-1 draw, while a goal festival saw the Under-16s play to a 3-3 draw. The Under-13s and Under-14s won the Legends Cup, while the Under-12s were eliminated in the semifinals of the tournament. Finally, former Academy defender/Cerritos College Falcon defender Jeffery Payeras is taking a chance on forgoing college and is now playing for Guatemala power CSD Municipal.
